Poll boost for Greens

Today's YouGov EU poll is a huge boost to our campaign. 8% is in line with our 2009 result and judging by the way the polls rose for us over the last few weeks of the 2009 election, history suggests that we can do very well this year.

YouGov also show us neck and neck with the Lib Dems and way ahead of them among the 18-25 voters and in the Midland and the North.

With our membership hitting 15,000 it seems that we are doing very well across the country.

Here in Maidstone we are fielding 15 candidates across the 18 wards and based on the canvassing return, the last election result of 23% and the number of defections from the Lib Dems, we are within a tiny handful of votes from winning in Fant Ward where the last winning post was 32%.

Sadly the campaigning has been far from clean by Labour
