Charting the demise of Arctic ice in this way really brings it home. The damaging being done to the climate by human behaviour is utterly appalling but within our day to day lives we often forget the impact our lives are having on the planet. So seeing this representation of the decline of the sea ice is really useful.
Climate change is already killing hundreds of thousands of people each year. As the feedback loops, such as an ice-free arctic will cause, kick in the deaths will spiral into the millions.
