Vestas pulls out of Kent

Bad news all round with this. Sheppey has lost the opportunity to have 1600 jobs created - much needed on an island that has twice the national rate of unemployment. Not only are these jobs essential but they couldn't be in a greener industry. This is from the BBC.

The Tories and Lib Dems are to blame for this. Their government is planning on cutting funding to onshore wind by 25% which sends a clear message about how uninterested they are in wider enviromental issues and just how interested they are in NIMBYistic lobbying by their rich friends.

Just last month I sat on a panel debate where local Lib Dem Clive English declared that he was proud of the Lib Dem policies on climate change. I wonder how proud he is of his government's actions?
