Fees at Ramsgate Live Exports

Compassion in World Farming are calling for increased port fees for the live animal exports at Ramsgate to make the practice uneconomical. Currently the company pay just £750 per docking and there is no legislation to suggest that this can't be substantially increased. Certainly the cost of the policing can't be covered by the current fee.

Portsmouth increased their fee to £5000 which stopped the exports. It is time for Ramsgate to do the same.

CIWF have a template email letter to send to Thanet District Council and I would urge everyone to send it. I'll also be writing a further letter to the leader of Thanet DC.
